Ken Goldberg is a professor and chair at UC Berkeley's Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department. His research specializes in robotics and automation. He and his team have published over 170 papers on robotics and automation to date.

In this episode we hear his views on the idea of the singularity and superintelligence. You likely have witnessed AlphaGo's triumphant victory over our Go grandmaster a couple years ago. This has spurred many thought leaders to posit the idea that we may be close to building superintelligence through software. We go deeper than just media hype and really try to dig at the heart of the social implications of the technological breakthroughs we are seeing today.
